plug and play versus installation

plug and play is usually a device that is plugged into a USB port and once plugged in it works instantly. some examples are mouses, speakers, and keyboards.

Installation requires you to go through an actual process of installing usually requiring you to input important data and also usually needs a cd with software.

Plug and play is faster to use but one con of it is the fact that once the computer is off all memory of the device is lost. so it would have to be re installed. also you cant get software updates and sometimes technical support. Installation does take a long time but where ever you take the computer on or off the software will always be on it and you also have access to software upgrades.

extra credit

if i were to purchase a computer i think the best choice would be the:
M17 17-inch CrossFireX™ / Core™2 Quad from alien ware

it is made mostly for gaming but has a lot of other features that make it an overall success
some features include
  • Intel® Core™2 Extreme Quad
  • ATI CrossFireX™ Dual Graphics
  • 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 Memory
  • 1TB Hard Drive Capacity
  • Extreme High Def Video and Audio
  • Full-size Illuminated Keyboard
from all this information what you can deduct is its 1 terabyte memory! which is unheard of and its 1066 mega hertz of processing which makes it really fast. It has 1 terabyte of memory!! which i have not even heard of in a computer, especially a laptop. 4 gigabytes of ram and hi-def sound and video for movies and games. The best part is that its only 1400 which is a little for this high speed computer. this thing is so fast that it does what you want, before you even know you want it.
